William Hone’s Plough Monday

 

In 1826, William Hone published his two volume “Everyday Book” which detailed the traditions and customs of the day.  This is how he described Plough Monday, a tradition that was revived by The Cambridge Morris Men and the Balsham Plough Boys lives on in the village of Balsham, Cambridgeshire.
